This was our last full day at the campsite near San Vicente de la Barquera, so we decided to visit the town for the second (and last) time. A website had promised a “covered market”, but if this existed, we were unable to find it. However, we did explore the town and saw what it had to offer in the way of shops, restaurants and the “King’s castle”. On the way over we saw some gigs out in the estuary, which is the first time we have seen them. It wasn’t clear whether they were racing or just training.
We returned to the campsite for lunch, then Lindsey had a last late afternoon swim (enjoying the surf!) before picking up some pizza from the local pizzeria. Tomorrow we are due to head to Fuente De (a Parador hotel in the mountains), which should be a change of pace!
